Thunderbird Lodge Cruise and Tour

South Tahoe's only public cruise to the historic Thunderbird Lodge
Includes: Continental breakfast, walking tour and picnic style lunch at the Thunderbird Lodge

Location: Round Hill Pines Beach Resort
Check In: 8:30am June 24 - Labor Day
Tuesdays - Saturdays (May-Sept)

Join us for Tahoe's most unique boat cruise to the Thunderbird Lodge every Tuesday through Saturday from mid-May through mid-October. Early reservations are strongly recommended as this cruise regularly sells out. Meet us at the boat at the end of the pier at Round Hill Pines Beach Resort at 8:30am for check in. Departure time is 9am.

We begin by cruising along the historic east shore of Lake Tahoe while enjoying a light continental breakfast with pastries and coffee. We have a fully stocked bar for passengers interested in purchasing a Bloody Mary, Mimosa or other adult beverage. While viewing some of Tahoe's most lavish estates and landscapes, our knowledgeable captain will share the history of the area.

Upon arrival at the Thunderbird Lodge, the boat will dock in the beautiful lagoon where you will step on to the grounds and begin your walking tour with the captain serving as your guide. You will tour the property and learn about the enigmatic former owner, George Whittell. After walking through a 600' tunnel, you will view, arguably, the most valuable antique wood boat in the world, the Thunderbird**. After the tour, enjoy a picnic style lunch set up exclusively for the group on the grounds of the property. Finally, we depart the estate and cruise back to Round Hill Pines Beach Resort, arriving about 2:00pm (time can vary depending on weather conditions and on some days a shuttle bus ride may be required back to Round Hill Pines Beach Resort).

*This tour requires moderate walking. The Thunderbird Lodge is a historic estate so walkways are uneven and include many steps.
**The Thunderbird Yacht may occasionally be out of the boathouse.
